COLUMBIA, SC (March 29, 2013) – A Williamston man has known for week that he won the Lottery but hasn’t mentioned it to his wife.

His excuse: “I’ve been working,” he confessed.

According to the winner, his wife doesn’t suspect a thing.

He’s been completely calm since winning $200,000 off a Double Mega Tripler scratch-off at the Country Corner Exxon on N. Hwy. 81 in Anderson.

“I’m going to show her the check when I get home,” he said leaving the Lottery’s Columbia claims center.

“I’m very thankful,” he said, and figures she’ll feel the same way.

As of this release, two top prizes of $200,000 remain in the $10 Double Mega Tripler game. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 428,571.43.

For selling the claimed ticket, Country Corner Exxon received a commission of $2,000.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $3 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
