Blackville Man Wins $300,000 Playing Palmetto Cash 5

COLUMBIA, SC (March 21, 2013) A Blackville man checked his Palmetto Cash 5 ticket before leaving for work and again when he got home.

He still cant believe he won $300,000.

Ive always loved to see people win, he said, but doubted he ever would.

His moment came on Friday, March 15, when his ticket matched all five numbers drawn (5, 11, 21, 30, and 34). Spending the extra buck to Power-Up tripled his $100,000 prize to $300,000.

Hell remain faithful to the game hes played for eight years.

Ive got a ticket in my pocket right now, he said awaiting his check.

Odds of winning $300,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 1,606,214.

For selling the claimed ticket, Quick Pantry 32 in Williston received a commission of $3,000.

To date, lottery play has resulted in more than $3 billion transferred to support education.
