$400,000 Palmetto Cash 5 Ticket Sold in Camden

COLUMBIA, SC (February 12, 2012) – A Midlands lottery player is $400,000 richer today and might not even know it.

A Palmetto Cash 5 ticket purchased from Mercers Country Store at 1216 Red Hill Road in Camden for Monday evening’s drawing matched all five numbers drawn to win $400,000. The ticket holder “Powered-Up” for an additional $1, to see the $100,000 top prize multiplied to $400,000.

More than 4,100 Palmetto Cash 5 players won prizes from $1 up to $400,000 in Monday’s drawing. More than 2,500 players spent an extra $1 to purchase the Power-Up multiplier and will have their winnings multiplied by four when claimed. The odds of winning $400,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 4,015,536.

Proceeds from every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery are returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
