COLUMBIA, SC (January 28, 2013) – A $40,000 Powerball® ticket sold at the Gate Petroleum Co. #326 on Hwy. 160 W. in Fort Mill expires today.
The ticket for the August 1 drawing (3 - 16 - 48 - 56 - 58 PB: 4) must be claimed at the Columbia Claims Center before 4 p.m.
Tomorrow, if a winner does not come forward, the prize will be spent by the state.
The bulk of unclaimed lottery prizes last year, $12.3 million, were used to purchase new school buses. This year close to $6 million in unclaimed prizes is slated for buses and $3.2 million marked for K-5 programs.
Next Monday, February 4, another Powerball® ticket, this one worth $10,000, lapses. Hickory Point #19 at 3705 Hwy. 81 N. in Anderson sold the winning ticket.
The $10,000 ticket purchased for the August 8 drawing must be claimed no later than Monday, February 4. The ticket matched four white ball numbers and the red Powerball® number.
