COLUMBIA, SC (November 21, 2012) – Like a good husband, a Piedmont man called his wife and drove straight home to show her his $200,000 winning lottery ticket.

“I jumped around and cried,” the wife said taking back every time she yelled at her husband for buying tickets.

As for the winner, he kept his emotions in check.

“I just got lucky,” he said.

He beat the 1 in half-a-million odds on the $10 Platinum Payout 25X ticket to celebrate the New Year debt free.

As of this release, three top prizes remain in the game.

For selling the claimed ticket, J & J Mart Inc. in Piedmont received a commission of $2,000.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.9 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
