Powerball® Jackpot Swells to $250 MILLION
11/20/2012 9:40:45 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (November 20, 2012) – Someone, hopefully right here in South Carolina, could be thankful come Thanksgiving morning for a $250 MILLION winning Powerball® ticket.

“We hope a South Carolinian will be the one to stop this jackpot run,” said the Lottery’s Executive Director Paula Harper Bethea. “A $250 million jackpot is fun for our players, but we encourage everyone to please, above all else, play responsibly.”

The odds of winning the jackpot are long, about 1 in 176 million.

For a chance at Wednesday night’s $250 MILLION jackpot, with a cash option of $166 million, South Carolinians must purchase Powerball® tickets by 9:59 p.m. for the 10:59 p.m. drawing. Powerball® tickets cost $2 and are available at lottery retailers statewide.

For an extra dollar, players may purchase the PowerPlay® option to increase non-jackpot prizes by a set amount.

Good luck, South Carolina!
