COLUMBIA, SC (October 8, 2012) – A Hilton Head man has a friend to thank for his $200,000 lottery win.

The winner admits he had no intention of playing the Lottery until his friend coaxed him in to taking the last Aces High ticket in the store’s display.

“Normally I’m stubborn, but for some reason I agreed and bought that ticket,” he said.

He stood outside the Enmark Station on Palmetto Bay Rd. to scratch the $10 ticket and was convinced his friend was playing a joke on him when the ticket revealed a $200,000 prize.

His friend wasn’t laughing.

“I hope he doesn’t feel too bad, because he could have bought the ticket,” the winner said.

As of this release, four top prizes remain in the Aces High game. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 462,857.14.

For selling the claimed ticket, Enmark Station #848 on Hilton Head Island received a commission of $2,000.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.8 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
