Lugoff Man’s Non-Winning Lottery Ticket Wins Him a New Car

COLUMBIA, SC (August 31, 2012) – If Allan Speicher had thrown away his non-winning lottery ticket, there wouldn’t be a new Dodge Challenger parked in his driveway.

Speicher doesn’t mind telling the curious how he won the car entering non-winning Muscle Car MoneyTM scratch-offs in the South Carolina Education Lottery’s second-chance promotion. One of his $5 tickets was selected from the more than 200,000 entries received to win his choice of one of four muscle cars.

“I still don’t believe it,” the Lugoff resident said. “Now I know that people really do win.”

The 41-year-old engineer with a pharmaceutical company was torn between the Chevrolet® Camaro® or the Dodge Challenger. Speicher admits when he saw the white Dodge Challenger with the black racing stripes on the showroom floor his decision was made.

“The car has that retro look from the 70s and the racing headlights,” he bragged. “Everyone is jealous.”

Speicher was one of two South Carolina Education Lottery winners selected in the Friday, July 20 drawing. Alleen Britton of Columbia was the other winner. She chose a Dodge Charger.

Two additional Muscle Cars have since been awarded to lottery players from Simpsonville and Graniteville. There is still time to enter non-winning Muscle Car MoneyTM tickets online or by mail for the final drawing to award another vehicle and a $100,000 grand prize.
