Powerball® Jackpot Adjusted to $320 MILLION
8/14/2012 4:53:35 PM

COLUMBIA, SC (August 14, 2012) – The advertised Powerball® jackpot has been adjusted up to $320 MILLION for tomorrow night’s drawing, making it the fourth largest jackpot in game history.

The winner can elect to take a cash option of $213 million, the largest cash option in the game’s history.

According to a report issued by Powerball®, the adjusted jackpot is an indication that Powerball® players across the nation are feeling the excitement. It was three years ago this month that the South Carolina Education Lottery sold its last jackpot winning ticket worth $259 million to Solomon Jackson Jr. of Columbia.

“We hope the jackpot run ends right here in South Carolina,” said Executive Director Paula Harper Bethea. “With increased participation, I want to urge everyone to please play responsibly.”

The odds of winning the jackpot are about one in 176 million.
