Mega Millions® Ticket Worth $250,000 Sold in Piedmont

COLUMBIA, SC (July 23, 2012) – If you purchased a Mega Millions® ticket from Hickory Point #36 at 2312 Easley Highway in Piedmont, then you might be $250,000 richer today.

The ticket sold in Piedmont matched all five white ball numbers drawn Friday night. Had the ticket holder purchased Megaplier® for an extra $1, the $250,000 Match 5 prize would have been an automatic $1 MILLION. The odds of winning 250,000 are 1 in 3,904,701.

Check your tickets and don’t forget to sign the back of your tickets. More than 6,800 players in South Carolina hold tickets for prizes from $2 up to $250,000. Of these, more than 2,200 players purchased Megaplier® to see their winning amounts multiplied by “3.”

Proceeds from every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery are returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
