2’s Finally Lucky, Drawn for the First Time Sunday Evening
7/10/2012 9:24:35 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (July 10, 2012) – Pick 4 history was made Sunday evening when 2 – 2 – 2 – 2 was drawn for the first time by the South Carolina Education Lottery.

The Lottery’s Claims Center in Columbia was packed yesterday and winners continue to file in today with Pick 4 tickets worth anywhere from $2,500 to $5,000 depending on the price paid for the ticket.

Why play all 2’s?

One of the winners in line said she dreamed the numbers, while another winner picked them because a friend told her to do so. Loyalty paid off for one woman, who waited three years to see 2’s drawn. A man in the crowd admitted he played the combination for the first time on Sunday.

The quadruple combination put the Lottery in the red for the July 8 evening Pick 4 drawing with a prize payout eclipsing $1.6 million. A sentiment that has Pick 4 winners smiling since the nine and a half year drought of 2’s has ended.
