Pick 3 nets over $2.2 million dollars in one week
3/15/2002

Columbia, SC: The South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) is pleased to announce the sales figures for Pick 3 in its initial week (March 7 – 13) as $2,288,082 million dollars. Also in its initial week, Pick 3 players won $922,250 in prizes. "These numbers are impressive", says SCEL Chief Operating Officer Tony Cooper. "We are exceeding everyone's expectations".

The Board of Economic Advisory Board (BEA) compares South Carolina ticket sales to Kentucky's because the populations are similar. Kentucky generated $326,000 for the first week of its Pick 3 launch in 1989. The SCEL almost doubled that during the first day of Pick 3 sales.

More than 2,700 lottery retailers across the state are equipped and selling the Pick 3 game.

These sales figures are provided by Scientific Games International and are subject to final verification by the SCEL’s central gaming control system.
