Greenville Security Guard is Lottery’s Latest Millionaire
5/7/2012 10:37:51 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (May 7, 2012) – Winning $1 MILLION hasn’t changed a Greenville man.

“I’m still the same old me,” he said.

He has been hugged a lot. The millionaire’s family and friends couldn’t be happier for him. He wants to do something special for his mom for Mother’s Day and take care of his girlfriend’s car payment.

When folks ask him for money, he tells them where they can buy their own lottery ticket. He recommends Harry’s Quick Stop #2 on Old Buncombe Rd. in Greenville.

The security guard was on his way to work the night shift when he bought the $10 Diamond Millionaire 10th Anniversary ticket at Harry’s. He went on in to work, laid the ticket on his desk and guarded it all night.

He plans to keep working.

“Is this really true?” he asked. “Maybe one day I’ll look in the mirror and this will hit me.”

The Greenville man is the fourth $1 million winner to come forward on the Diamond Millionaire 10th Anniversary instant ticket. As of this release, one more $1 million top prize remains in the game.

Harry’s Quick Stop #2 received a commission of $10,000 for selling the claimed ticket.

To date, the South Carolina Education Lottery has created 69 millionaires.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.7 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
