Luck Strikes Twice for Anderson Man
4/13/2012 8:33:34 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (April 13, 2012) – The Lottery’s met the luckiest man in Anderson.

He introduced himself last August, when he and his wife stopped in with a $200,000 winning ticket. This time, he brought his daughter along to deliver his recent find, another $200,000 winner.

“I’m back,” he said. “Son of a gun, I hit it again.”

Sporting a pleased smile, he told how he bought this ticket too from the 81 South Texaco Food Mart on Hwy. 81 S. in Anderson. He scratched the card inside the store and left in a hurry to tell his wife the news.

“She hugged me,” he said, his eyes tearing up as he recounted the moment he told his wife he’d beaten the odds and won his family $200,000, again.

“He’s just lucky,” said their daughter. “He’s good hearted too.”

The couple paid off their home with the first win, enjoyed a trip to Las Vegas, and bought Christmas presents for children that otherwise wouldn’t have had any to open on Christmas morning.

This win is even more special, because he never imagined he would hold another ticket like the one he held last August. Two in one year has him shaking his head.

“This one is fun,” he said.

“I went all the way to Vegas but had better luck at the gas station in Anderson,” he joked.

As of this release, one top prize of $200,000 remains in the $10 $200,000 Cash Celebration game. The odds of winning $200,000 are 1 in 456,000.

81 South Texaco Food Mart received a commission of $2,000 for selling the claimed ticket.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one
million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.7 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
