SCEL Sales Figures for Week Ending March 3, 2002

Columbia, SC: The following report represents the financial activity for the South Carolina Education Lottery's (SCEL) eighth week of operations ending March 3, 2002. This information is based on data provided by Scientific Games International. Estimated ticket sales to date are over $138 million.

The number of individuals claiming prizes:
February 25 to March 3, 2002: 2,420,166
Total: 23,061,947

The dollar value of prizes paid:
February 25 to March 3, 2002: $8,711,419
Total: $81,814,210

*Estimated sales:
February 25 to March 3, 2002: $14,665,236
Total: $138,367,530

*The numbers are based on an estimate of winning ticket validations in each pack. The source is Scientific Games International. The SCEL believes this is a reasonable estimation of sales based on standard industry practices. These numbers reflect activity through the close of business Sunday, March 3, 2002.
