$250,000 Mega Millions® Ticket Sold in Mount Pleasant

COLUMBIA, SC (March 5, 2012) – Someone is holding a Mega Millions® ticket worth $250,000. The ticket was purchased from Kangaroo Express #3850 at 4020 Bessemer Road in Mount Pleasant.

The ticket sold in Mount Pleasant matched all five white ball numbers drawn Friday night. Had the ticket holder purchased Megaplier® for an extra $1, the $250,000 Match 5 prize would have been an automatic $1 MILLION.

Check your tickets. More than 10,600 players in South Carolina hold tickets for prizes from $2 up to $250,000. Of these, more than 3,600 players purchased Megaplier® to see their winning amounts multiplied by “2.” Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. The estimated Mega Millions® jackpot for Tuesday, March 6, is $127 million.

Proceeds from every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery are returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
