Summerville Woman Claims $1 MILLION Mega Millions® Prize
2/21/2012 2:51:54 PM

COLUMBIA, SC (February 21, 2012) – A Summerville woman is glad her husband had a hankering for the fried chicken served up at PT’s Zip N Go in Cottageville. While she was picking up his lunch, she bought herself a Mega Millions® ticket.

“It was the best $2 we ever spent,” said her husband.

The couple, connected to the Cottageville area, has claimed the $1 MILLION Mega Millions® prize for Friday night’s drawing. Their quick picked ticket matched the first five numbers drawn (16, 25, 28, 32, and 40 MB:3).

Spending the extra $1 for Megaplier® increased their would be $250,000 prize to an automatic $1 MILLION.

“The whole experience has been almost comical,” said the winner.

The reports on television, the story in the morning paper along with the small town gossip has given them plenty to smile about. The winner’s husband even drove by the store yesterday chuckling when he caught a glimpse of the news trucks.

How is the millionaire feeling today?

“I don’t know how to feel,” she admitted. “But I’ve bought my ticket for tonight’s drawing.”

Seeing the check brought the moment home.

“It’s finally real,” she said holding back tears.

Instead, she is writing her first check to their church. The couple is paying off all debt and putting some money aside for their children’s education.

“It would be nice if we could just go blow it,” she grinned. “I was looking at new cars online last night.”

The odds of winning $1 MILLION playing Mega Millions® are 1 in 3,904,701.

PT’s Zip N Go in Cottageville received a commission of $10,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
