COLUMBIA, SC (October 21, 2011) – A Columbia woman wasn’t planning on hosting her family this weekend, but she knows they’ll be stopping by to hear how she won $200,000 playing the Lottery.

She’ll tell them Daddy made it happen.

The winner told lottery officials her father passed away in September. She quit her job to take care of him, but shared he often worried about how she was going to get by.

“He’s not worried anymore,” said the winner. “I know he feels better now.”

She purchased the Big Dollar Doubler instant ticket from the Corner Panty #105 on Forest Drive in Columbia. The winning ticket will fix up her house and buy her a better car.

“I didn’t see this coming,” she said. “I am so excited.”

As of this release, three top prizes of $200,000 remain in the $10 Big Dollar Doubler game.

The odds of winning $200,000 are 1 in 288,000.

Corner Pantry #105 in Columbia received a commission of $2,000 for selling the claimed ticket.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than 932,000 college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.5 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
