COLUMBIA, SC (September 9, 2011) – At his father’s urging, a Gaffney man bought a $5 scratch-off and won $100,000.

“I had a good feeling about it,” the dad told lottery officials.

“The next time you get a lucky feeling, let’s buy a Powerball® ticket,” suggested his son.

The two have been smiling ever since scratching the $100,000 Touchdown ticket inside Parth Food Store in Gaffney.

“It was a father and son moment that just gets better and better,” the winner said.

As of this release, two top prizes of $100,000 remain in the five dollar $100,000 Touchdown game.

The odds of winning $100,000 are 1 in 480,000.

Parth Food Store received a commission of $1,000 for selling the claimed ticket.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than 920,000 college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.5 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
