Lamar Lottery Winner Orders Her Husband Home
8/4/2011 10:40:21 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (August 4, 2011) – At work a Lamar man took a call from his wife to hear: “Come home, come home right now.”

He did. No questions asked.

Outside the house wasn’t on fire, but inside his wife was a nervous wreck.

She was holding a South Carolina Education Lottery scratch-off ticket worth $200,000. Her hand shook as she showed him the winning $200,000 Cash ticket.

He got back in the car, but he wasn’t returning to work. He drove his wife to Columbia to collect her cash.

“I’ve never won anything before,” she told lottery officials when she arrived.

With his wife doing all the worrying, he sat relaxed waiting on the check.

As of this release, two top prizes of $200,000 remain in the ten dollar $200,000 Cash game.

The odds of winning $200,000 are 1 in 411,428.57.

She purchased the $200,000 Cash ticket from Tex’s Grocery in Darlington. The retailer received a commission of $2,000 for selling the ticket.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than 920,000 college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.8 BILLION has been appropriated to support educational programs in the Palmetto State through June 2012.
