7/11/2011 10:20:03 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (July 11, 2011) – A Lexington man celebrated his birthday a few days late. The gift was worth the wait. A $200,000 lottery ticket is just what he wanted.

“The check should have a big red ribbon on it,” he told lottery officials at the Columbia Claims Center.

The retired gentleman’s wife smiled from ear to ear at the sight of the 20X The Money ticket. The two are planning a trip to visit family.

As of this release, three top prizes of $200,000 remain in the $10 20X The Money game.

The odds of winning $200,000 are 1 in 480,000.

Pitt Stop #5 in Irmo received $2,000, a 1 percent commission when the ticket was claimed. The commission is capped at $50,000.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than 920,000 college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.5 BILLION has been appropriated to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
