COLUMBIA, SC (June 27, 2011) – A California resident has decided to extend her vacation in Myrtle Beach.
“Wow! This is beautiful,” she commented.
Only she’s not referring to the scenery.
She is describing her feelings toward her $100,000 winning lottery ticket.
The winner, who lives outside of Los Angeles, told South Carolina Education Lottery officials while visiting her brother in Myrtle Beach she happened to buy the Jeep® instant ticket. She was admittedly surprised to win. Her brother and his wife were equally shocked.
“Not true!” screamed her sister-in-law.
“Next year, I’m coming back,” said the winner.
As of this release, one top prize of $100,000 remains in the Jeep® game. The odds of winning $100,000 are 1 in 520,000.
Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent retailer commission, capped at $50,000. KNH Food Mart in Myrtle Beach received $1,000.
Non-winning Jeep® instant tickets can be entered online or by mail in a second-chance promotion. Players could win a Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, $100,000 or a Jeep® merchandise prize pack. Visit sceducationlottery.com or ask a lottery retailer for details.
Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than 920,000 college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.5 BILLION has been appropriated to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
