COLUMBIA, SC (June 13, 2011) – A Greenville man credits his mom for blessing him with a $200,000 South Carolina Education Lottery win. Sunday would have been her 77th birthday.

“I feel she made this happen,” said the winner.

While the winner does not wish to be identified, he told lottery officials he plans to invest and use his Strike It Rich! winnings to help to others in his community. He knows his mom would approve.

“She’s still looking out for me,” he added.

As of this release, two top prizes of $200,000 remain in the Strike It Rich! game. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 480,000.

The Spinx Company #140 in Greenville sold the ticket and received $2,000, a 1 percent retailer commission.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than 920,000 college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.5 BILLION has been appropriated to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
