$250,000 Mega Millions® Ticket Sold in Columbia

COLUMBIA, SC (May 4, 2011) – Are you holding a Mega Millions® ticket worth $250,000? The ticket was purchased from Pitt Stop #08 at 7460 Two Notch Road in Columbia.

The ticket for the Tuesday, May 3 drawing matched all five white ball numbers drawn. Had the ticket holder purchased Megaplier® for an extra $1, the $250,000 winnings would have been multiplied to $1 MILLION, regardless of the Megaplier® drawn.

Check your tickets. In Tuesday night’s drawing, more than 6,800 of the South Carolina Education Lottery’s players won prizes from $2 up to $250,000. For more than 2,300 players in South Carolina who spent a total of $2 to purchase Megaplier®, their prizes will be multiplied by two. Tuesday night’s $51 million jackpot was won in California. The jackpot for Friday night’s Mega Millions® drawing is an estimated $12 million.

Approximately 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery is returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
