Sales figures for the week ending February 10

Columbia, SC: The following report is the financial activity for the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL)'s sales figures for the fifth week of operations ending February 10, 2002. This information is based on data provided by Scientific Games International. Estimated ticket sales to date are over $92 million.

The number of individuals claiming prizes:
January 7 to February 3, 2002: Total: 12,274,985
**February 4 to February 10, 2002: 3,029,909
**Total: 15,304,894

The dollar value of prizes paid:
January 7 to February 3, 2002: Total: $43,442,981
**February 4 to February 10, 2002: $10,911,496
**Total: $54,354,477

Estimated sales:
*January 7 to February 3, 2002 *Total: $74,020,304
**February 4 to February 10, 2002 $18,318,696
**Total: $92,339,000

**These numbers may change based on when Scientific Games International releases their numbers.

*The numbers are based on an estimate of winning ticket validations in each pack. The source is Scientific Games International. The SCEL believes this is a reasonable estimate of sales based on standard industry practices. These numbers reflect business through the close of Sunday, February 10, 2002.
