COLUMBIA, SC (April 5, 2011) – A Dillon couple is splitting a $200,000 lottery prize.

“He’s thrilled, and I’m thrilled,” the girlfriend told lottery officials.

“I don’t believe it, and he can’t believe it either,” she added. “Nobody we’ve told believes us either.”

But it’s true. Lottery staff confirmed the Stacks of Cash ticket the two purchased from Breakers #117 in Dillon is worth $200,000.

“We’ve dated for three years,” she shared. “This is amazing.”

The couple did not want to release their names, but plan to invest the winnings.

As of this release, one top prize of $200,000 remains in the Stacks of Cash game. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 480,000.

Breaker’s #117 in Dillon received $2,000, a 1 percent retailer commission, when the prize was claimed.

Approximately 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery is returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
