COLUMBIA, SC (April 1, 2011) – A Sumter woman’s screams startled her coworkers. She told everyone that rushed to her desk she was fine and held up a lottery ticket. She grabbed her purse and headed out to tell her son, “Momma just won $200,000.”

“She was ringing my door bell nonstop,” her son told lottery officials. “When I opened the door, she started screaming she won the Lottery.”

The winner and her son didn’t waste any time driving to Columbia to cash in the Emerald Green 7’s ticket.

“Today’s my day,” she told lottery officials.

The winner shared that she plans to pay off her home and complete some home improvement projects.

“This is unreal,” she said. “Everyone at work is probably out buying lottery tickets.”

As of this release, five top prizes of $200,000 remain in the Emerald Green 7’s game. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 497,142.86.

Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent retailer commission, capped at $50,000. Petro Mart Inc. in Columbia received $2,000.
