Winston-Salem, NC, Couple Ends Second Honeymoon with Lottery Win
3/3/2011 10:28:18 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (March 3, 2011) – When a Winston-Salem, NC, couple’s second honeymoon trip to Charleston ended, they were sad. Scratching a lottery ticket on the drive home cheered them up.

“Oh sweetie, you hit $100,000!” said the winner’s wife.

Hearing his Jeweled 7’s ticket was a winner was startling at first, but the husband shared that the closer he got to his home, the more excited he got.

“We left poor and came back rich,” the winner joked.

The winner did not want to release his name or divulge his plans for the money. He only expressed how special this present was for his family.

“What a great way to close out a vacation,” he said.

S.M. Food Mart in Richburg sold the winning ticket and received $1,000, a 1 percent retailer commission when the ticket was claimed.

As of the date of this release, one top prize of $100,000 remained in the Jeweled 7’s instant ticket game. Odds of winning the top prize on the $5 Jeweled 7’s ticket are 1 in 480,000.
