Winnsboro Woman Wins $100,000 on Ric Flair™ Instant Ticket

COLUMBIA, SC (February 4, 2011) – A Winnsboro woman couldn’t help but think of her husband when she purchased a Ric Flair™ Lucky WOOOOO!™ instant ticket.

Her husband is a devoted fan of the wrestling legend. Now she’s come around too. Winning $100,000 on The Nature Boy’s™ ticket certainly helped her make the transition.

“The other week I was walking thought the house screaming ‘WOOOOO!™’ and my wife told me to be quiet,” the husband told lottery officials.

“Now, I have a new reason to scream ‘WOOOOO!™’” he said. “She’s started saying it.”

The winner, who did not want to release her name, scratched the ticket late Wednesday and initially thought she won $1,000. Then she put her glasses on and when $100,000 came into focus, she started screaming.

“I was even telling my kids what I wanted them to buy in case the excitement killed me,” she said.

The husband remained calm. He told lottery officials after hearing the news he fed the dog and slept the night away with ease. His wife was a bundle of nerves. She put the winning ticket in her Bible and put the Bible under her pillow. She didn’t sleep a wink.

The couple collected the winnings yesterday with plans to pay off expenses first.

“This is like a dream come true,” she said.

“WOOOOO!™ WOOOOO!™” said her husband in agreement.

Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent retailer commission, capped at $50,000. 97 Express in Richburg received $1,000.

Lucky WOOOOO!™ launched last Tuesday. The Winnsboro couple claimed the first top prize. As of this release, three top prizes of $100,000 remain in the game. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 300,000.
