West Pelzer Woman Is Laughing About $100,000 Win

COLUMBIA, SC (February 2, 2011) With a tray of food in her lap and the recliner at a comfortable tilt, a West Pelzer woman started scratching an instant ticket. What happened next still has her laughing.

She told lottery officials when she realized she won $100,000, she started screaming. She knocked the tray in her lap over, stumbled out of the chair, and tripped heading out of the room to find out why her family had ignored her screams.

Im so happy, the winner said. To me this feels like Ive won $1 million.

The winner, who did not want to release her name, bought the winning Green and Gold ticket with a winning ticket she was cashing in at the J & M Sav Way in West Pelzer.

Shes already called to find out how much remains on her mortgage, and she plans to pay it off this week.

For selling the winning ticket J & M Sav Way in West Pelzer received $1,000. Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent retailer commission, capped at $50,000.

As of this release, 1 top prize of $100,000 remains in the $5 Green and Gold game. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 480,000.
