$1 MILLION Mega Millions® Ticket Sold in Folly Beach

COLUMBIA, SC (January 5, 2011) – Someone is holding a Mega Millions® ticket worth $1 MILLION. The ticket was purchased from Kangaroo Express #839 at 42 Center St. in Folly Beach.

The ticket sold in Folly Beach matched all five white ball numbers drawn last night. The ticket holder wisely purchased Megaplier® for an extra $1, to multiply the $250,000 Match 5 prize to $1 MILLION.

Check your tickets. With a $355 million jackpot on the line, ticket sales were brisk in South Carolina producing more than 59,600 winners of prizes from $2 up to $1 million. A second ticket matched all five white ball numbers to be worth $250,000 was sold at the Lowry Food Mart #2 in Seneca. Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. Two jackpot-winning tickets, sold in Idaho and Washington, will split the $355 million jackpot, the second-highest in the game’s history. The estimated Mega Millions® jackpot for Friday, January 7, 2011, is $12 million.

Approximately 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery is returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
