The South Carolina Education Lottery Sales Still H

Columbia, SC:  The South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) is please to report sales figures for the third week of operations ending January 27th.  This information is based on data provided by Scientific Games International.  Estimated ticket sales to date are $55.6 million.

Below you will find the financial activity:

The number of individuals claiming prizes:
January 7 to January 13, 2002:   3,048,916
January 14 to January 20, 2002:       3,196,565
January 21 to January 27, 2002:   2,923,250
Total:       9,264,781

The dollar value of prizes paid:
January 7 to January 13, 2002:      $10,870,318
January 14 to January 20, 2002:   $11,249,569
January 21 to January 27, 2002:     $10,333,352
Total:      $32,453,239

Estimated sales:
*January 7 to January 13, 2002:  $19,126,676
*January 14 to January 20, 2002:  $19,307,142
*January 21 to January 27, 2002:  $17,212,868
Total:      $55,646,686
 

* These numbers are based on an estimate of winning ticket validations in each pack.  The source is Scientific Games International.  The SCEL believes this is a reasonable estimating sales based on standard industry practices.  These numbers reflect business through the close of Sunday, January 27, 2002.
