Greer Man Claims $200,000 Powerball® Prize
10/20/2010 11:03:00 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (October 20, 2010) – A Greer man has claimed the $200,000 Powerball® ticket sold in Greenville. When asked: "How are you doing?" The winner's daughter spoke for them both. "We are doing really well," she said.

After purchasing the Powerball® ticket last week from The Spinx Company, Inc. #127 in Greenville, the Greer man stored the ticket in his car visor. "Daddy, do you realize you have been running around with $200,000!" laughed his daughter.

The winner, who requested his name not be released, plans to put the winnings aside for retirement.

The winning ticket for the Saturday, October 16 drawing matched all five white ball numbers drawn (11, 12, 15, 16, 28, PB 11) but missed the red Powerball®. If the winner had purchased PowerPlay® for an extra $1, his $200,000 winnings would have been multiplied to $1 MILLION.

More than 17,000 players were winners of amounts between $3 up to the $200,000 Match 5 prize. The estimated jackpot for tonight's Powerball® drawing is $46 million.
