Johnston Farmer Wins Chevrolet® Camaro®

COLUMBIA, SC (October 19, 2010) – A farmer from Johnston has a dilemma: Where to park a new Chevrolet® Camaro®? He won the car scratching the Lottery's Camaro® instant ticket.

"I always wanted a sports car like that but never thought I would have one," he told lottery officials.

The prize is valued at $53,000 and includes applicable federal and state tax withholdings.

The winner, who requested his name not be released, hopes he can pick the color. He noted the car on the ticket is silver, and that's nice, but he thinks red would look mighty fine.

His daughters are admittedly excited about the Camaro® and are trying to convince mom and dad to take the sports coupe on a road trip to Florida. The folks are just looking forward to a test drive.

Monks Corner BP in Johnston sold the winning ticket. Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent retailer commission, capped at $50,000. The retailer received $530.

Non-winning Camaro® instant tickets can be entered in a second-chance drawing for a chance to win $100,000 or a Chevrolet® Camaro® 1SSTM. Details are available at sceducationlottery.com.
