Time is Running Out for Thousands of Dollars in Unclaimed Powerball® Prizes!

COLUMBIA, SC (August 30, 2010) – Thousands of dollars in Powerball® prizes will go unclaimed unless the winning ticket holders come forward.
A $200,000 Powerball® ticket was sold at Miller Produce and Farm in Fort Mill for the Wednesday, March 10, 2010, drawing. The winning white ball numbers were 17, 21, 37, 41 and 50. The red Powerball® was 1 and the PowerPlay® multiplier was 2. The winning ticket holder has until Monday, September 6, to claim the prize. As Labor Day is a holiday, the claim would have to be made by close of business on Friday, September 3.
A $200,000 Powerball® ticket was sold at Plantation Station in Hilton Head for the Saturday, March 27, 2010, drawing. The winning white ball numbers drawn were 7, 21, 32, 44 and 52. The red Powerball® was 10 and the PowerPlay® was 4. This $200,000 ticket will expire on Thursday, September 23, 2010.
Always check your numbers carefully and sign your winning tickets immediately. Winning ticket holders have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. Players who win sums greater than $100,000 must claim their winnings in person at an SCEL Claims Center, located in Columbia, Greenville and Mt. Pleasant.
Unclaimed prizes are transferred to the Education Lottery Account for appropriation by the General Assembly to support educational initiatives in South Carolina.
Approximately 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery is returned to the state in the form of contributions to education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
