8/5/2010 11:42:33 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (August 5, 2010) A Go For The Gold instant ticket proved to be a real treasure for a lucky lady from Florence. She won a $250,000 top prize!
The 60-year-old player does not want to publicize her name, but she purchased her winning ticket at Markette #26 in Florence.
The prize benefitted the store as well. Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent commission, capped at $50,000. Markette #26 received a $2,500 retailer commission.
The $250,000 prize was the last top prize in the Go For The Gold game and these tickets are no longer for sale.
Approximately 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery is returned to the state in the form of contributions to education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
