COLUMBIA, SC (May 14, 2010) – A player from Hephzibah, GA, has claimed the $100,000 prize from the May 4 Palmetto Cash 5 drawing.
The man asked that his name not be publicized, but he told Lottery staff the lucky ticket was a gift.
“My friend bought the Palmetto Cash 5 ticket as a present for me on my birthday, May 4,” the player said. “When I realized the ticket was worth $100,000, I called my friend to tell him the news. He told me the prize was my blessing,” said the birthday boy, who turned 65 on his big day.
The winning Palmetto Cash 5 numbers were 2, 9, 12, 26 and 28. The multiplier was 3. The ticket was purchased at Corner Pantry #113 on Garner’s Ferry Road in Columbia. The retailer received a $1,000 commission for selling the claimed ticket.
