COLUMBIA, SC (April 13, 2010) – A Columbia player got the surprise of his life when his Cash Bonanza Bonus ticket revealed a $1 million prize!
“This can’t be right,” the lucky man said after staring at the winning ticket. He called his wife, but she did not believe his story. Reality set in when the winner cashed his ticket at the Columbia Claims Center.
“I’ll pay off some bills and then save the rest,” the 57-year-old man said. He asked that his name not be publicized.
The new millionaire purchased his ticket at Sunoco Coop #2662 in Ladson. Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent commission, capped at $50,000. Sunoco Coop #2662 received a $10,000 retailer commission.
Non-winning Cash Bonanza Bonus instant tickets can be entered in a second-chance drawing for a chance to win $1 million. Other prizes in the second-chance drawing include five, $50,000 prizes and 100, $1,000 winners. For complete details, visit sceducationlottery.com.
