Sumter Man Wins $250,000 Instantly!

COLUMBIA, SC (April 12, 2010) – A $10 lottery ticket earned a Sumter man a $250,000 prize! The player asked that his name not be publicized, but he told lottery staff he believes he in still in shock after winning $250,000 on a Go For The Gold instant ticket.
“After I won, I called my brother to tell him the good news. I plan to share the money with my children and siblings, and invest some of it,” he said.
The lucky man purchased his ticket at Corner Stop Liquors in Sumter. Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent commission, capped at $50,000. Corner Stop Liquors received a $2,500 retailer commission.
More than $17 million in prizes remain in the Go For The Gold game, including four top prizes of $250,000.
