Group of Happy Winners Claim $200,000 Powerball® Ticket Sold in Seneca!

COLUMBIA, SC (April 12, 2010) – A group of friends and co-workers in Seneca are all celebrating their good fortune after winning $200,000 playing Powerball®.
“I couldn’t believe it! I didn’t know what to do!” That’s what Tracy Rice, of Seneca, thought when she realized one of the group’s tickets matched all five of the winning white ball numbers in the April 10 drawing.
What she did next was send a text message to her friend, Danielle McLane. “I was sitting in church when Tracy texted me that we had a winning Powerball® ticket. I thought she was joking,” McLane laughed.
The group of 14 will split the $200,000 prize. They purchased $56 in Powerball® tickets for a few consecutive drawings. The players bought their tickets at Plez U Store #1 in Seneca. The winning numbers were 21, 22, 49, 52 and 58. The red Powerball® was 34. The PowerPlay® multiplier was 2.
The winners were just one number shy of winning the $150 million Powerball® jackpot, but they aren’t dwelling on that. “We’re still so happy. This is a blessing,” said Rice.
Plez U Store #1 is also benefitting from the big win. Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent commission, capped at $50,000. Plez U #1 received a $2,000 retailer commission.
