COLUMBIA, SC (March 8, 2010) – Velda Little could not stop smiling when she found out she was the $100,000 grand prize winner in the Lottery’s Big League Baseball Second-Chance promotion!
“Thank the Lord,” the Columbia resident said. “This is such a blessing!”
The lucky player entered the second-chance promotion with hopes she would be the big winner, but admits she was stunned when it happened.
“It’s unbelievable,” Little said. “I’ll share the prize with my family. I can help them in so many ways.”
The Big League Baseball Second-Chance promotion was popular with players. Grand Prize winners in two earlier drawings each received a trip to a Major League Baseball® ballpark of their choice, hotel accommodations and $1,000 spending money. Hundreds of entrants received a baseball merchandise prize pack. The final Grand Prize drawing was for a $100,000 prize. Approximately 16,000 entries were mailed in and more than 59,000 entries were entered online for the final $100,000 Big League Baseball Second-Chance drawing.
