Estimated Powerball® Jackpot Climbs to $115 Million!
2/2/2010 5:05:38 PM

COLUMBIA, SC (February 2, 2010) – Strong Powerball® ticket sales have caused a jump in the estimated jackpot for Wednesday night’s drawing! The Powerball® jackpot was originally advertised at $107 million, but due to increased ticket sales in all 43 participating jurisdictions, lottery officials have adjusted the estimated jackpot to $115 million.
“The jackpot boost is a direct result of more people playing Powerball®,” said South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) Executive Director Paula Harper Bethea. “Powerball® is now available in 43 jurisdictions as a result of the cross-selling agreement between the Powerball® and Mega Millions® groups. With more people having the chance to play both games, Powerball® and Mega Millions® jackpots have the potential to grow larger more quickly.” Bethea added. “And with these increased jackpots, education in South Carolina benefits.”
Powerball® drawings are held each Wednesday and Saturday evening at 10:59 and aired on draw partner stations across the state.
