Fort Mill Grandmother Scores $200,000 Mega Jumbo Bucks Win!

COLUMBIA, SC (July 6, 2009) – A Fort Mill grandmother hit the jackpot when she won a $200,000 top prize on a $10 Mega Jumbo Bucks instant ticket. The lucky lady, who wants to keep her name private, is taking the win in stride.
“I’m going to go back home and treat my mom to a cold Pepsi,” she chuckled. What other plans does the winner have? “I plan to start a college savings fund for my granddaughter.”
The Fort Mill resident bought her winning ticket at K Won Mart located at 2891 West Highway 160 in Fort Mill.
The retailer who sells a claimed ticket worth more than $10,000 receives a one percent selling bonus capped at $50,000. K Won Mart received a $2,000 selling bonus.
Since the Lottery’s inception in 2002, the General Assembly has appropriated more than $2 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2009. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, more than 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery was returned to the state in the form of contributions to education, prizes, retailer commissions and payment to contractors for goods and services.
