COLUMBIA, SC (June 5, 2009) – Chairman Tim Madden of the South Carolina Education Lottery announced that Ernie Passailaigue is stepping down to pursue other personal goals after eight years as Executive Director of the lottery. Chairman Madden stated, "Ernie has done a tremendous job as Executive Director. The people of South Carolina should be very appreciative of the way he has managed the lottery. It is a credit to both Ernie's leadership and the hard working employees of SCEL that each year since the lottery's creation, SCEL has surpassed the transfer estimate established by the General Assembly. Ernie will be missed by both the members of the Commission and his staff, and we wish him well with his future endeavors."
