COLUMBIA, SC (June 1, 2009) – The South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) celebrates all things summer at this year’s Sun Fun Festival in Myrtle Beach!
On Saturday, June 6, SCEL will offer its complete lineup of lottery tickets for sale. Instant games such as Mega Jumbo Bucks and Big League Baseball, along with player favorites Palmetto Cash 5 and Powerball®, are among the available games. The first Saturday drawing for Palmetto Cash 5 will be held that night. Players spending $10 or more in lottery tickets can spin the prize wheel for exciting promotional items such as t-shirts, tote bags, hats and more. Stop by the Lottery tent to watch the prize wheel spin around and around from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m!
Since the Lottery’s inception in 2002, the General Assembly has appropriated more than $2 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2009. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, more than 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery was returned to the state in the form of contributions to education, prizes, retailer commissions and payment to contractors for goods and services.
