COLUMBIA, SC (January 26, 2009) – It’s a dream come true for Lexington resident, Rose Marie Williams! She just won a Grand Prize package worth $50,000!
“Oh my! I can’t believe it,” Williams said when she learned she won the ninth and final grand prize in the “That’s the Ticket” Second-Chance promotion.
Williams’ prize includes a seven-day, six-night trip for herself and a guest to one of the following destinations: Los Angeles, California; New York City, New York; or Las Vegas, Nevada. The trip includes: a minimum of $25,000 in cash; first class airfare (for the winner and guest) by a major U.S. air carrier; deluxe driver services for ground transfers between the airport and the hotel; and accommodations for two persons in a deluxe (four- or five-star) hotel for six nights; one set of luggage; a digital camera; and an iPod® nano®.
“I’ve always wanted to go to New York City and see the Statue of Liberty, and now my wish is really coming true,” Williams said. The 54-year-old winner says she enjoyed entering the “That’s the Ticket” Second-Chance promotion and loves the Lottery’s games. Williams believes luck is on her side and will continue to play!
Since the Lottery’s inception in 2002, the General Assembly has appropriated more than $2 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2009. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, more than 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery is returned to the state in the form of contributions to education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
