COLUMBIA, SC (January 6, 2009) – Who’s holding a winning $800,000 MegaMatch 6sm jackpot ticket? One lucky player rang in the New Year by matching all six numbers to win the jackpot! The winning numbers in the Friday, January 2 drawing were 4, 7, 17, 18, 25, and 28.
The winning MegaMatch 6sm jackpot ticket was sold at KMO #102 located at 4531 Hwy 29 North in Belton, SC and has not been claimed.
The last MegaMatch 6sm jackpot won was on November 25, 2008. The jackpot was $925,000 with the winning numbers of 1, 14, 16, 26, 28 and 29. This ticket was purchased at Piggly Wiggly on Garners Ferry Rd. in Columbia.
MegaMatch 6sm is a $5 ticket and features a rolling jackpot starting at $550,000. When the jackpot is not won, the jackpot increases by at least $25,000 for the next drawing.
MegaMatch 6sm drawings are held on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 6:59 and are televised live on SCEL’s draw partner stations around the Palmetto State. Players wanting to know more about MegaMatch 6sm can visit SCEL’s website, www.sceducationlottery.com, and click on the MegaMatch 6sm icon. There viewers can play the MegaMatch 6sm simulator to familiarize themselves with the play style and ways to win. Players can win by matching four or more numbers on a single line or by matching five or more numbers within all three lines. Prizes range from $7 up to the jackpot.
From 2002, more than $2 BILLION in lottery proceeds has been appropriated by the General Assembly to support education in the Palmetto State through 2009. In the year that ended June 30, 2008, more than 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the SCEL is returned to the state in the form of contributions to education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
