MEDIA ADVISORY / PHOTO OPPORTUNITY

WHO:
Join in the celebration of education and help mark a milestone with the South Carolina Education Lottery as we salute our 7th anniversary!

Stop by any of our three Claims Centers and enjoy a slice of anniversary cake as our way of thanking players and retailers for being a vital part of the Lottery’s success. Players who bring in $5 worth of non-winning instant lottery tickets will get a special prize between the hours of 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Since the Lottery’s inception in 2002, the General Assembly has appropriated more than $2 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2009. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, more than 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery is returned to the state in the form of contributions to education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
