COLUMBIA, SC (December 9, 2008) – Thousands of South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) players are celebrating today after last evening’s Pick 3 drawing of triple 2’s!
The numbers 2-2-2 were selected, and 4,378 tickets correctly matched the winning numbers. Each Pick 3 winning ticket is worth $250 on a 50 cent bet, bringing the total payout to $1,094,351. Sales for the December 8 evening draw were $201,351.

Since inception in 2002, the General Assembly has appropriated more than $2 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2009. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, more than 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery is returned to the state in the form of contributions to education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
