COLUMBIA, SC (November 18, 2008) – A ticket for South Carolina’s rolling jackpot game, MegaMatch 6, is a hot item to have right now! The jackpot for tonight is $875,000!
The last MegaMatch 6 jackpot was won in August. The winner, from Rockingham, NC, purchased his winning $1.4 million ticket at McColl Food Pantry in McColl.
Each MegaMatch 6 ticket costs $5 and has three rows of six numbers in each row. Players win by matching four to six numbers in a single row or by matching five or more numbers contained in all three rows for a combination win. Players can win up to four times on a ticket. Drawings are held Tuesday and Friday evenings at 6:59 p.m. The MegaMatch 6 jackpot starts at $550,000 and grows at a minimum of $25,000 each drawing until won.
Since inception in 2002, the General Assembly has appropriated more than $2 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2009. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, more than 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery is returned to the state in the form of contributions to education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
